I made lots of afghans, doilies, collars. Seven years later I had my second son. I bought a New Home sewing machine from a traveling salesman on the payment plan. . I used it for making our clothes (Suit for my husband and boys and dresses for myself. I'd post pictures of them in outfits I made if I didn't think they'd kill me. :-) Many, many years later, I came to live with my brother, He married his second wife who quilted. I had hand quilted tops my Mother give me but never had made one from scratch. My sister in law taught me how to use the rotary cutter on a mat with a ruler. I never knew there was such a thing. Thus my obsession with making quilts began. This year, the machine I purchased in 1972 finally got sick. The repair man said it was tired and sold me a new one. I may look for a new motor for it as I really do like the machine. No plastic in that baby. :-)
