I started crafting at about 7 years old when my wonderful grandmother came to visit us. She was a crafter. She offered to teach me to crochet, and I was so thrilled that she would take the time to teach me her favorite skill. She had crocheted some beautiful bedspreads, toss pillows, etc. After about six weeks, it was time for her to return home, and I had learned pretty well by then how to crochet and contined to practice almost every day. As the years went by, I learned other crafts as well that appealed to me. Now I am a "Jack of All Trades and Master of None". I keep telling myself that I need to put away some of the crafts that I don't do so well at and stop bringing more home so I can get more proficient at those crafts I am not exactly the "Master" of, but they are all so much fun, I can't figure which one to put away right now. I guess that is the point, though. As long as I am having fun, and the craft turns out rasonably well, what else matters? That is what crafting is all about, after all. To embellish our own lives and bring us joy, and it does.
