Grandmother spent hours teaching me to knit at the age of 7 years and I haven't really stopped. I trained as a nurse and took my knitting along to my final exam to help relax me and it did so now every time I start to worry or get panicky over anything I pick up some knitting. I have only just recently started crochet and I am loving it. I have completed the Rainbow Valley Crochet blanket and am aiming to do a babies layette whilst on Holiday in France. I have also learnt how to do Tunisian and Bulgarian crochet. I also have the urge to learn how to do the tatting! but I think perhaps I might be taking on too much.
Although I am well into retirement age I have not yet retired and still do a little office work etc. I quit smoking 16 years ago with the help of knitting but unfortunately put on lots of weight which I have decided must come off. "It is more exercise you need" they say and this would mean I wouldn't be able to do so much crafting so looks like I will have to eat less instead.
