My mother taught me to knit when I was about 8 years old. She was an avid knitter - I still remember the matching tween suits she made for my sister and I. (I hated it!) I also started to sew around this time - usually pinching my Dad's socks to make an outfit for my Sindy doll - I blame Blue Peter!

As a teenager I made all my own clothes - we didn't have the choice or the money that is available now. I stopped sewing and knitting after my children were born as really didn't have much time with 3 children born in 3 years.
Now the children have flown the nest I am addicted once more. Unfortunately I make a lot of mistakes - am too impatient sometimes. I would need to live for another 100 years to make all the projects I have in my head!
