I have always been interested in crafting since I was young. I can't remember how I got started in crafts, maybe my mum and grandma who often knitted and crochet; mum taught me to knit and crochet at an early age. I also remember being given a Holly Hobbie sewing machine when I was a young girl, that's probably how I got started on sewing. I also loved to make latch hook rugs and cushions, tapestry, paint/sketch and cross-stitch. I have in recent times attempted scrapbooking, but personally found I didn't like it very much, as was the same with ribbon embroidery.
Somewhere over the years, I started up patchwork and quilting projects, as well as just general sewing. I have a number of UFO's hanging around, and I am currently working on the Craftsy BOM, probably one of the biggest quilting project I have ever attempted. I also am working on another quilt/wall hanging featuring five blocks of Dresden plates. I bought a few years ago, a fabric pack at a quilting expo/show in Melbourne at a fabulous price and didn't know what to do with them until I came across a quilt pattern in the Australian Quilters Companion magazine. I am buying the matching fabric as I go; the colours in the fabric pack are quite difficult to match.
My aim is to continue the craftsy BOM (although I am dreading quilting it, it will be a LARGE quilt!). I also would like to explore more with thread painting and free-motion embroidery, so would like to see more of this in Craftsy. Just want to say thanks to the Craftsy team for putting together such an awesome website! :)
