My mom didn't believe in letting her kids be idle. If we were watching TV, we were required to be doing something useful with our hands. I learned how to knit and embroider before I started school. I made my first garment, an apron out of 1/4" gingham, in 2nd grade.
My display name comes from a young friend. I made her a dress for Prom, and when I refused payment, she called me her Fairie Godmother.
