I love anything fiber related- knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, art quilting, dying, rusting, beading, and anything art related, painting, drawing, throwing pottery, plus cooking, baking, canning, etc. My primary fields are sewing or anything with yarn.
How did I start all this madness? Well, you see, we were homeschooled. And at that time, there wasn't a lot to do when you were homeschooled. We had a lot of free time on our hands, every day. We got our quality education in and done with by noon and the rest of the day was ours to explore, craft, create and learn whatever was on our minds. With no internet at the time (boy do I feel old), we were frequent flyers of the library and had ample books on the shelves of our own at home. I'm still culling Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Needlework (my fav crafting book of all time, by far).
Nowadays, when I'm not homeschooling my three kiddos and being a wife and mom, I am working as a seamstress, making products for tube fed kids. My life as an RN and as a crafter, intersecting in what can only be described as "God weaving the threads of my life together in a tapestry I could have never imagined". In this line of work I have found a new love for everything design. There isn't anything better than designing and problem solving the next product, even though some days I dread the hours it takes. When I'm done I have a completely new item that came from my head and is now in my hands. Satisfaction!
