About 12 years ago I became handicapped. I have sewn as a hobby since childhood. I used to make my daughters clothes, husbands western shirts etc. But I had worked outside of the home all of my life so I had to squeeze sewing projects into my "spare" time. But once I had to stay home I increased my skills to include quilting, machine embroidery, stained glass and ceramics. I am in a wheelchair most of the time now but I have to feel productive. I also make stained glass pieces when the mood strikes me. I am very happily married to my perfect husband of 13 years. Between us we have 3 children and 6 grand children and 1 great granddaughter who is 11 going on 40. Our children and grand children live from Maryland to Arizona. So we don't get to see thm very often. Crafting helps me pass the time and yet still feel productive.
