Out of necessity, I was a single mother and had no money. I learned the basic sewing skills in 7th grade Home Ed, using those skills and a portable Singer sewing machine, I made all my daughter's and my clothes until she graduated from college and married. For a few years I did not sew at all, concentrating on my job and new husband. Now I am retired and back doing what I love, creating pretty things for my family and myself.
I learned to embroidery when I was 12 years old. The effect which can be established by needle and thread has thrilled me. I always have something in my hands, sewing, crotchet, knitting or embroidery. It is quite wonderful to be able to create lovely items, almost like an artist.
Recently, I have been trying to learn techniques and improve my skill in quiltmaking.
