When I was very young, I watched my grandmother crochet doilies, and when she gave me a hook and thread, I imitated her as she worked. (Not very well at first I must say.) My first "real" project was an insanely huge ball of chain stitches that I made from scraps of yarn my mother gave me after she finished afghans. I crocheted the chain stitches into a sturdy rug which lasted 40+ years before the yarn integrity finally gave up. I have been crocheting and knitting ever since. Ask anyone who knows me, I NEVER leave home without yarn, hooks, and needles. And I am always working on multiple projects... my staple however is cotton market bags. I really enjoy the opportunity to see all of the creative designs from these oh so talented designers!
