I always loved looking at quilts and thought they were so neat and beautiful. My older stepsister, Sarah, is into quilting and I had lots of free time one summer while in college and thought I'd give it a go. Sarah gave me some magazines and few tools and that was it. I sewed my first three quilts by hand that summer. I have yet to quilt one by hand, but the lady who does the quilting for me does such a nice job with her machine, so I just can't bring myself to do it. Plus it takes a lot of time, and being a student, I just don't have it. I'm lucky to get any quilting done as it is. I definitely caught the quilting bug after my first one. It's so fun putting all the fabric together and then the look on the person's face when you give it to them is just priceless. I hope to be quilting for a long time.
