I have been sewing, stitching, knitting and making 'things' for as long as I can remember. I recall sitting at my grandmother's treadle machine and sewing an apron, I would have been about 5 yrs old. My father, a single parent, brought me my first sewing machine for my 15th birthday. I think he was secretly pleased that I'd shown an interest in sewing, as my late mother had been a dressmaker.
