MY mother owned a yarn shop in Sacramento Ca from 1980 to 1992. I learned to knit watching her teach others at the age of 9. She was a wonderful seamstress but didn't sew often and her machine was off limits. So I taught myself how to sew in my early 20's after I had my first child.
