I taught myself to crouchet by using a beginners book and lots of time a few years ago and made dollies. Now I have taken these classes with Craftsy and I am on my way working a sweater for my first project. My problem is holding the needles and yarn to make the most of my time. I can't seem to work the yarn unless I manually wrap it around the hook with my entire hand moving with it. I haven't had much time knitting yet so I think a blanket project might get a rhythm going. As far as reading the directions I think just taking a class does go a long way! I stopped working on my sweater because I'm afraid to attach the sections together because I don't know how yet and I don't want to wing it because the yarn was $110 and has silk in it. Maybe someone could help me with that. Luv Sandy
