My mother was a graphic artist and she always encourage us to try things. As a child I liked to draw and paint. My grandmother enjoyed sewing, painting, decorating. She made pillows, clothes, and table runners for our family. She loved setting a beautiful table. So I think crafts were in my blood. I started quilting when I ordered a kit to make a cross stitched quilt for my parents 30th wedding anniversary - I didn't know you had to quilt it too - they got the quilt for their 35th anniversary.
