I taught myself to knit about 8 years ago. Both my grandmothers are avid knitters and I used to want to create beautiful pieces like they did. My mum showed my how to cast on and do garter stitch and I was away! Over the years I have built my skills and can now do cables, intarsia, fair isle, most lace patterns, socks and pretty much anything else.

Over the years I have built my skills and can now do cables, intarsia, fair isle, most lace patterns, socks and pretty much anything else.
Living in Perth means I don't have much use for big wooly sweaters so I mainly knit smaller items or use yarns that are slightly less warm. Being allergic to many synthetic fibres, I knit entirely in natural fibres, using wool, cashmere, silk, alpaca (which I love!) and cotton.
I've really enjoyed the Craftsy classes. Although most of the skills aren't new to me, it's good getting some formal training in the skills rather than teaching myself.
