I began sewing at the age of 10. By 12, I'd made a quilt for my newborn sister, clothes for my dolls, and even a cotton bra. I designed a wedding gown for my mother at 17. Through marriage and a family I continued to sew for my husband and children while working as a seamstress for retail stores and private clients. When the youngest of my 4 children started school, I also started college and earned a BS in Apparel Design at an "older than average" age. I began working in custom design making wedding gowns and other formal wear. About 2007 I began producing patterns for the sewing market, and that was the birth of Sew Chic Pattern Company. My goal is to spread the love of sewing through good design and quality patterns.
