I enjoy all types of quilting and small projects. My picture was the first applique project. The gold and brown fabric was given to us to create something out of it and it looked like chicken feet to me so I did a rooster. Much to my surprise, I won 1st place. I took Peggy Martin's class on Strip Piece paper piecing and I loved it. I hated paper piecing before that class. I love trying new things. I now teach a paper piecing class at our local quilt shop. I started quilting about 2002 and have loved it ever since. I have taught 2 of my granddaughters to quilt and one has won her County fair 3 yrs in a row and the 10 yr old has made 5 quilts for differnt people . I quilt with a group and we make quilts for Hospice and I do quilts for my High school class cancer patients. I want them to know they are loved and thought about. Our guild is active in a baby quilt program. The teen girls have to complete their check ups, parenting class, and postnatal cks and then they get to choose a quilt for thier baby. Since we have started this we have had no deaths and have made appx 250 quilts a yr. I love being involved in the community and doing my part to help others less fortunate. I absolutely LOVE Craftsy and have many programs I have bought but haven't view yet. Love the winter when I stay in to do that.
