Hi, I am a mom of three great kids. I started scrapbooking when my first was born in 1989, loved it ans moved on to cardmaking, stamping and I'd try almost any paper craft. Out of pure need, my grandmother (a seamstress by trade) taught me how to sew around the same time to save money on home dec items, baby blankets etc. I loved it but didn't have a lot of time to devote to personal projects. As my second was born, a friend of my mom's gave my son a quilt and promised to teach me all she knew. I couldn't wait but still spent more time with my kids pictures. Unfortunately, I became disabled in 2001 and desperately needed to do something to occupy free time and use my brain. I continued to sew and scrapbook, then taught myself (with cd's and books on line) how to quilt. I didn't feel that my projects were god enough to share. When I found this site I finally felt I could build on my beginner skills to make quilts that would become family heirlooms.
