I started knitting in Nursing School as a way to relax between study sessions. I was inspired to start by my very first Nursing instructor who made me an green eyelash yarn scarf while she was working in the ER. She made them for all of us as a congrats for surviving our first semester of clinical. I'm self taught. It was amazing how it helped me calm down! On the other hand, I couldn't get a "groove" going when it came to knitting. I never seemed to finish a project. I dropped knitting for 2 years almost, and then I started looking at all my yarn I had and decided to pick up a crochet hook! I am self taught in crochet now and I LOVE it! I've made so many things for family and friends and FINALLY made something for me! I made a bag for my yoga mat out of Sugar n Cream and it's awesome! I bring my crochet projects with me everywhere and even if I get a few stitches in I am happy. I'm now an ER nurse and there are always 4-6 projects going!
