My grandma was really good at sewing and embroidery. I learned from her first, then learned sewing from my Home Ec class in Jr High and an advanced class in High School. I think it's a shame they don't teach Home Ec anymore - both my young adult daughters are interested in sewing and would have enjoyed a class like that!
