I started quilting in 2000 when my son announced he was getting married. I wanted to give them a unique wedding gift so I learned how to make a photo transfer quilt for them. I started quilting in 2000 when my son announced he was getting married. I wanted to give them a unique wedding gift so I learned how to make a photo transfer quilt for them. Since I had been sewing since I was a teen (making prom dresses and work clothes for myself), I had the sewing basics down and I was able to learn the fun, creative parts of quilting along with the techniques. I have expanded to creating landscape quilts, personal design quilts based on basics (with a twist) and creating gifts for family and friends. I have recently bought a long arm machine and table and am looking forward to learning this part of the quilting process too.
