I was born sewing. Pretty much, I started sewing my own clothes when I was 9 yrs old, and now I'm over 50. Then I started designing, and writing quilt patterns. I have published one Quilt Book called Log Cabin Quilts: A Brand New Story by Karen Murphy. You can still buy it on Amazon. Yes, Karen Murphy. As soon as it was published, I got married! So much for all that name recognition! We live in Joplin, MO, where thankfully, the tornado of May 2011 missed us. I also have a job (I still work at home though) as Editor of The Quilt Pattern Magazine. It's online (we save trees) and focus on Quilt Patterns! I love all my work, and could happily give up all housecleaning and cooking in order to keep working. Some might say that I have. They might be right. But I do try to keep the dust bunnies corralled as best I can.
