So I would say I learned from my mother. I married my husband and we had 4 daughters and I made most of their clothes as they were growing up. I had a sewing shop in my home for several years doing appliques on sweatshirts for a local shop and later making wedding gowns and doing alterations. I had a sewing shop in my home for several years doing appliques on sweatshirts for a local shop and later making wedding gowns and doing alterations. I also worked for a couple of home decor shops making draperies and such for them. I now work in a retail store that sells clothing at an outlet mall near our home. I love what I do but wish I had more time for quilting. When I do get a day off I get together with my mother and we sew on quilts or something fun.
