Hi I'm Jackie aka Jax, I'm 60, married, live in Bangor, North Wales, have one daughter and two adorable grandaughters who unfortunately (for me) live in Australia. Started patchwork & quilting after I retired early 15 years ago on health grounds by going with a friend to a September evening class because she didn't want to go by herself. All I knew about patchwork was hexagons that my Grandma used to do and there was no way I wanted to do them. Well it wasn't anything like I was expecting - machine strip piecing, and machine quilting - I was hooked even though at the time I didn't possess a sewing machine. Christmas that year was telling everybody in the family what I needed and I haven't looked back since. Several spinal operations hindered progress at times but it is my 3rd passion after my Lord Jesus and my family. I like fast piecing, not partial to applique but love the quilting part of the whole process. I still do a little hand quilting but only for relaxaton - had one double on the go for years. Have just invested in an easyquilter frame but not really got going on that yet as it involves a reshuffle in the sewing room.
