My grandmother taught me to quilt when I was just a child, but she always quilted by hand. After she passed away a few years ago, I inherited a couple of quilt tops she had sewn, but never got around to stretching on her frame and quilting. So I worked on a king-sized nine-patch that she made, and it took me 3 years to complete it by hand. I just knew there had to be a faster way. I have so many ideas about quilts and projects I want to create, and I needed to learn a faster way of cranking out these quilts, because I work full-time, and I have other interests that also take up my time. Hence, my reason for joining Craftsy - to learn how to machine quilt and get those projects done quickly.
I am a wife to a wonderful man, and a mother of three grown children, who are now giving me beautiful grandchildren that I adore and spoil as much as possible. I am an artist, but I do not make a living as an artist. I love to work in a variety of mediums - painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), sculpting (clay, wood), pottery, thread art, quilt art.
I own a home health care business, and it keeps me very busy. I look forward to being able to retire in a few years so I will have time, time, TIME, to create my art, to explore art quilting, to hike, camp, fish, ski, snowshoe, travel, and play to my heart's content! :-)
