I live about 20 miles outside London. I started sewing at an early age when I had to make a blouse in sewing class at school. I absolutely hated it and in the end the pins went rusty because I didn't finish the item!!!. Many years later when I was working and living in a flat in London I picked up sewing again. I was hooked and spent many weekends when my flat mate was away to buy loads of fabric from John Lewis, a big department store in London and just work through, finally finishing the outfit ready to wear on the Monday!!! I have continued along in this vein but about 10 years ago decided to get a qualification and gained my City & Guilds part 1 and part 2, advanced in textiles. Nowadays I have enjoyed moving into quilting but anything that takes my fancy I do, my husband slightly exasperated that I have 3 sewing machines, an embellisher and an overlocker - but of course they do different things I say. My daughter is now married so I took over her old bedroom and it is now my sanctuary. The craftsy site is absolutely brilliant, there is always something extra you can learn. I love the online classes and am very impressed and excited when I get a response from any tutor I contact with a query as we go along. Well done Craftsy.
