When I started sewing, I thought I hated it. HA! What did I know then? Now a week does not go by that I don't sew something though knitting, crochet and felting compete for time.
I watched my mother and my paternal grandmother knit, sew and crochet whenever they had a spare minute. I believed this to be normal behaviour and as I look around at my friends, it confirms this belief. We are all seriously hooked on making things with our hands.
I love the fact that in a handmade item, every inch of fibre has moved through the crafter's fingers, every stitch is a kiss or a hug for the wearer.
