I am a 50 something quilter living in a beach house on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound. I am inspired greatly by the views of water, Mt. Rainier, green forests, sandy beaches, birds and wildlife surrounding me. I've had many creative outlets over the years--beading, knitting and felting, gardening, cross stitch, cooking, garment sewing, watercolor, etc.-- but for the last 5 or so years my real passion has been quilting. I love needleturn applique and other hand sewing techniques and have been having so much fun incorporating felted wool into my quilts. I am a relatively new long arm quilter and I am having a blast--and getting projects completed. I am primarily a traditional quilter who uses happy colors, hand-dyes and batiks with abandon. One of the most important aspect of quilting for me is the community it inspires. I wouldn't want to be without my Monday bee friends and I love sharing sewing with my very creative daughter.
