I am a wife and a mother of two young men. I consider myself a serious hybrid because I have my hands into so many things that I love. I have a in-home studio, that I refer to as Ms. Alethia's, where I do alterations and custom dressmaking~ bridal and formal wear. I have a 9-5 job where I work for a bridal/formal store as the Alterations Manager. In 2008, I created the networking blog for sewist and crafters called Sew Much Talent. I manage a Facebook page bearing the same name. And, lastly, I am an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics~ 4 years strong. Whew!
I got started sewing/crafting probably at the age of 8 years old. My mother made all of our clothes, including hers. I would take the scraps/remnants and design clothes for my doll. After seeing I was interested in sewing, my mother sent me to a two-week sewing class. I have been sewing/designing ever since. Pretty much self taught. I made just about all my clothes in high school. At 18 years old, I started sewing for my friends and doing alterations. The year after high school I completed my first wedding (bride and bridesmaids). I've been going strong ever since.
