I taught myself to knit, crochet, embroider, and sew as a young mother of 16. It was an inexpensive way to stay sane. I went on to raise 3 daughters and then started raising 3 grandchildren. Life is settling down now and I have time to knit, I knit my first pair of socks last year, then a shawl. I love shawls and want to design my own patterns.
