At a convention in NH.
Took free classes in knitting and crocheting. Met many talented people and instructors,,,Lily Chin, Myra Wood, and the Crochet Dude. Next year took 2 paid classes and was hooked.

At the lounge I started very simple projects knitted dish cloths and scarves. This attracted plenty of the people around me. Being new to the arts I asked many questions and learned a great deal. Thanks to all. At the time many ladies were working on masterpieces. Wow and yet was truly amazed at the skill and watched.
Several times I felt sorry for the ladies that were doing wonderful work and I being a male did simple things. Many of the ladies asked what I was doing? I am a free style knitter doing simple things for everyday life nothing fancy just useful. Someday will learn to read charts to improve the shawls I knit ,
Still learning each day getting better a little at a time, My wife still finds the errors in my knitting. So learn how to fix mistakes...
