My Mum taught me to sew, knit & crochet when I was quite young, (40+ years ago) but I only took up quilting this year (2011) when I decided to make a quilt as a special present for my Mum. We lost my Dad last year, just after Mum & Dad had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary so I knew that Mother's Day would be one of those difficult days for her.
