I've been interested in sewing since a little girl, watching my mother sew many outfits for me and herself. I was fascinated by her button tin, which held many old buttons from previous outfits. I started sewing for myself after a visit to the USA in my late teens. My parents and I visited an outdoor pioneer museum. In one of the buildings a huge quilt frame was set up with a gorgeous quilt in it. I'd never seen anything like it. Whilst there I bought my first quilting book (McCall's) and thence began my journey into quilting; embroidery; dyeing my own fabrics etc. My real love is colour. I've been very fortunate to have been on some workshops led by Ruth Issett who teaches all about colour. Amazing lady.
