When I was a teenager, a friend of the family made the most exciting quilts...courderoy and wool...dark, rich earth tones and modern patterns. It was the first time that I realized that I didn't have to make "grandma quilts" (not that there's anything wrong with them...). Her quilts started a fabric creation craving that I still haven't quenched!
