I started stamped cross-stitching before I was 10. At 10 I was able to be in a 4-H Sewing Club for a year. From there it was knitting, quilting, and crocheting. I'm so glad my grandmothers wanted me to learn what they knew and then it just kinda blossomed from there. I taught one of my grandmothers how to crochet a ripple afghan. She did so well she went on to make matching pillow covers. The "crafting gene" skipped my mom and my daughters: however, my niece and great niece love to make things. My great niece is 8 and enjoys learning how to knit and crochet. That's what we do on "Auntie Days" when she has off school. I cherish those days!
