My mother taught me how to knit when I was 10 or 11, and my Aunt Viola taught me how to crochet when I was a teenager. I switched from knitting to crocheting full time in my 30s, but started knitting again in the mid-2000's when I discovered Vicky Howell's Knitty Gritty. And while I continue to knit from time to time (and sew), I am a crocheter at heart.
