Crochet first grade, knitting second grade, and sewing third grade at school. Today mostly beading and knitting, no project too intimidating to tackle. Apparently I speed knit in the Scandinavian way, so I'm overly prolific at times and I'm running out of family and friends to give my creations to - after all, you only need so many socks, right? All knits and jewelry are adjusted to plus sizes unless custom made for someone else - I find the commercially available knits still to be a bit too 'aunty' for me and necklaces too childish. I guess I'm really onto something deeply personalized here and sharing just to create a record of my work for my family - I won't be posting any patterns, but I'll be happy to help you figure them out if you ask. My yarns are usually bought discounted, or found on ebay for a fraction of the full price. I also bring in delicious yarns from my trips to Europe. My daughter has taken after me, but is much more fond of crochet which I rarely do...but in all honesty, she is the truly talented of the two of us in imagination. I just follow patterns, more or less.
I'll be happy to help anybody with knitting, it is nowhere near as hard and intimidating I sometimes hear people think. You can ask to friend me on FB under Marianna Helin. Do tell me you're looking for Craftsy connection so I don't just ignore you.
