I was about 11 when my Aunt taught me to crochet, and when my Grandmother taught me to quilt, well she said if you tall enough to see over the quilt rack you were tall enough to help quilt boy or girl, this is what was keeping you warm in the winter. So she put them together in the fall and winter with my 2 Aunts and they got quilted in the summer, while I was there on school break. I was also taught to embroder by a different Aunt. Then I took my first sewing class in the 5th grade, made the wedding dress in the 8th grade for my parents to renew thier vows, well the dress was for my MOM. It was pink satin, not a really full wedding dress, more like a formal.
