When I was early teens I had my grandmother teach me to crochet, all she worked with was crochet thread and could read directions. Needless to say I didn't go far with that. Sometime later I decided to try again and to read a pattern, been crocheting ever since. About 17 + years ago I got my first knitting machine and took classes, then I got an electronic one. Sometime later I decided to try again and to read a pattern, been crocheting ever since. About 17 + years ago I got my first knitting machine and took classes, then I got an electronic one. Machine Knitting is becoming a dying art which is a shame. I'm not real good with either machine, I do enjoy using them to make quick gifts, sweaters, afghans and baby items because it takes less time the machine knit then to crochet. Have also do cross stitch, latch hook, still learning how loom knit. Bottom line is I like doing crafts.
