I don't remember when I didn't have a needle between my fingers: dolls clothes, my wardrobe - impoverished students cannot afford to buy off the rack - home furnishings etc etc. Then when Hubby was out of town over several months and without a TV I discovered cross-stitching.
And now, thanks to Amy, I am rediscovering the joy of quilting, and have been inspired by her to make two sampler quilts: one for me (to practise the techniques) and a second from the collection of Canteen bandannas I have accumulated over the years. Canteen is a charity specifically targeted at teenagers with cancer, and their families, primarily their siblings and every year they release a line of cotton bandannas. When the quilt is finished, I will auction it with all proceeds being donated to Canteen.
