In 2009 I gave up my work to take care of my sick husband (he had a stroke in 2007). I was so bored and wanted to do something which I had never done before. So I went and bought a sewing machine in 2010, January. At that time I did not even know how to thread the bobbin. My friend and Janome staff at Bankstown kindly showed me a few functions on the machine. Also, my friend is a quilter and advised me to take up quilting. I wasn't that keen at the time but I reluctantly said yes. She took me shopping and gave me some books to read, and we did a quilt together. By the time I finished my first quilt, I went crazy on quilting, jumped on to the net and saw Jenny's YouTube tutorials. Now I have 2 sewing machines and stashes of fabric. Still constantly buy fabrics on line from America and love them all. My family lost the dining table and a 4 drawer filing cabinet for my quilting. By July 2011, I had made 9 single, 2 baby,1 queen and currently working on king size quilts. I do all my quilting at night. Some of the quilts have gone to England, India, Sri Lanka and Canada.
