I was taught how to sew in home economics class in high school. I made tops and shorts for myself and my sister's to share. When my daughter's were little I made 2 matching outfits that everyone swore was tailor-made. Also, a friend taught me the basics of crochet. Later, I taught myself how to read and follow crochet patterns. My first project was a granny square afghan to fit a full size bed. Then I crocheted Barbie clothes and beaded hair scrunchies for my daughters. I crocheted a sweater for my oldest daughter but it didn't turn out right (didn't check gauge). My next project is a baby blanket and lovey for my 2 youngest grand-daughter's. LOL....my grandson wants a blanket too. I would love to learn how to knit but I'm a hands on learner so that will have to wait for now.
