She also helped my mother after school and continued to teach me at home. All through my school years, I won state and local sewing & design contests. With the contest scholarships, I started college majoring in fashion design. I later switched to business and started raising a family. My daughter and granddaughters still kid me about being a fashion designer when I criticize their choice of attire. I am ancient in their eyes.
