I started cutting up clothes for pieces when I was 8, (such gorgeous colors and textures in the 70's!). I had a cardboard pattern, cut as many triangles out of each piece that I could, and had a lot of fun learning to sew them together. I didnt learn to really quilt til we hit a new century.
