at age 4 yrs. I was given some yarn to play with my dolls. And so it began. I am self taught in all aspects of needlework. As I grew up I would see a new type if needlework and I would work until I had acquired enough about something handmade to begin asking questions, then I progressed to zeroing-in on any written material that looked like the needlework I was interested in. I kept everything I had accumulated. until I could understand it, then I kept trying to copy it until it worked. I began to scout out the older ladies that lived around me and Someone would eventually either show me what I was doing wrong or give me another piece of that puzzle. I just seemed to have been born knowing what to do with string, yarn, etc, and the tools of the-trade were like discovering old friends. I understood their shapes and what to do with them. I ma now 76 years young. I estimate that I have knit 2-3 thousand garments, This figure does not include pieces in needlepoint, crosstitich, Hardanger emb, machine sewing, crochet, tatting, and embriodery
I have taught, classes for 40 years and won many, many, national awards for my designs and my pieces. I absolutel love every thing that begins with a needle.
