My mother is a dressmaker and tailor from wayback, she was taught in her childhood in Italy. She now is blind from diabeties and can no longer sew. My mother is a dressmaker and tailor from wayback, she was taught in her childhood in Italy. She now is blind from diabeties and can no longer sew. I wished i had of paid more attention to her when trying to teach me as a child and now its too late so i'm trying to improve my basic/intermediate skills and take it to advanced level through alternative lessons and reading books and youtube clips. I think i underestimate my skill level as i have previously sewn evening wear (prom dress) and other special occasions but always with the watchful eye of my mother who had my back when things didn't go as planned. This is probably why i never progressed to an advanced level. She is a perfectionist and would much rather me watch her than experience it myself and have to fix mistakes. I also have taught myself to crochet from Youtube and would love to do beginners knitting. I love scrapbooking and card making, cake decorating and baking. I also love photography and would love to see some courses on Craftsy in the future. I love the Craftsy lessons as its just like attending a class but you can replay over if you miss something or didnt understand the first time and i love that i can be in my daggy home clothes and not have to make much effert to leave the house and learn in my spare time.
