I started quilting when, at the age of 60, I noticed that my sight was no loger good enough for making thin crochet curtains which I loved and had been doing for about thirty years. I began looking for something else, something I would be able to see at the age of 70 and 80 and, eventually. later. I don't like knitting and,I had never used a sewing machine before, but the only possible thing for me to do seemed to be quilting. I studied all possible pages on Internet, tried to make my first quilts for the cats, then for the dogs because I wasn't sure I could make one for people. About two years ago I dared make a baby quilt for one of my granddaughters and...she loved it and wouldn't go to sleep without it. This encouraged me and now all my grandchildren enjoy their grandma-made quilts. I have one regret: why didn't I begin making quilts when I was 25?
