I started doing embroidery at 12, along with crewel work. I didn't really learn to sew until I was 22. By 30 I had made about 1000 quilts, belonged to 7 quilt guilds, won a few prizes, was invited to show my quilts a number of times. Around 30 I learned to alter and sew custom clothing.
