I began learning crafts at the age of 12 when I got involved in a community service project at my school. I visited a nursing home to chat with a resident and learn how to crochet. Mrs. Ford was the lady I visited and the person who started me on my journey with fiber. She promised me she would live to 100 years old and she did- crocheting and knitting with me thru high school and college. During this time I became interested in jewelry making and metalsmithing. I earned a BFA in metals in 1987 and used fiber techniques to create my work. I made metal basket for many years out of copper wire- to see my work, go to www.caluneo.com . Currently I am discovering knitting again and I've started spinning and dyeing.
